Letter to Jesus
If I had never known you, What would I become?
For I recall you as a small child, Tugging my heart, Touching me deeply with your love.
So long ago, Still I feel like that small child. So much to learn, I have not learned yet.
I feel like I have lived in a fog. Walking through shadows of darkness, groping for the way home.
I've walked close to you at times, yet I often fall. Stumbling as I search for understanding, So many things Lord I do not understand.
I try to put together the meaning, like a puzzle, Searching for the pieces.
So many times I search for a meaning and struggle with despair. but I know you are there.
I know Lord you are with me, For I feel your gentle touch. Forgive me for my many sins. help me to learn to trust.
Forgive me for not living up to my expectations, I have fallen so very short.
How many years have I wasted, believing something not to be? And still reluctant not to believe it, For you may have planted the seed.
If I hold any anger root it out, And if I make you angry Lord, turn your face away. Do not remember it.
For your mercy I cannot live without. And your tender touch I cherish. No one can make me whole. Only you..Only you can fill me,do not let me go.
For living without you is empty and separation is death to me. For it would have been better had I not been born, than to face that reality.
I want to give you all you desire from me, withholding nothing. All I hope to gain is to know that you are pleased.
That somehow I bring joy to your heart. I want to see you smile at me and just sit at your feet for all eternity.
Oh Jesus I'm a sinner..Son of David have mercy on me.
