Ten Things I Hate
10. I hate how so many people turn their heads to the poverty in our own country and choose instead to help those in third world countries. I don't think helping those in the third world countries is a bad thing, because they do need it, but I do believe that we need to feed our own starving children first.
9. I hate how the Children's Aid service works. They take children from homes that they should be in, and leave children in homes that they shouldn't be in. I have a friend who's son was taken from her, after the Children's Aid society claimed she was too depressed to look after him properly. Two weeks later, her son was murdered by another child in foster care. On the other hand, I also am in a relationship with a man who has children from another woman. She mentally and emotionally abuses the children, but because she is a notable community figure, it is swept under the carpet... so her children just have to deal with it. Where is the justice in that?
8. I hate the double standards that we have placed in our society. As women, we have fought for the right to work outside of our homes. As a mother of three, I have been condemned by working outside of the home, because my children need me at home. As a mother, I have also been condemned for being a stay at home mother, because I am not contributing to the financial security of my children.
Second case in point, is the way every woman wants to be equal, yet only if it benefits herself. I realize that I am a woman, and I have every right to do everything that a man can do, but as an equal, a man should also have that right. I have one friend who was abused by her partner, and he was charged and sent to jail. Justice was received. I have another friend, who is a man, who was beaten by his wife, and it was shrugged off, because, after all she was a woman and he was a man...
7. I hate that people believe that young parents are not as good as older parents. I had my first child when I was eighteen, and I know that I gave him more love and support than many 'older' parents give their own children. Age isn't the factor. It is the maturity and life experiences of the individual that reflect their own parenting styles.
6. I hate how all religions reflect the same belief ( a higher being that one has faith in) and yet it is the largest cause of the wars in our world. If we want peace, we need to be willing to accept every lifestyle that each and everyone of us have.
5. I hate that in order for me to qualify
