Poetry: Being trapped

My feet glide me through a path that steers,
The trees, I can feel there leers.
I crouch to hide as someone nears,
My head swells with fears.
To scared to cry out my eyes filled with tears,
No one even cares or hears.

As I fall and hover on the ground,
My feet feel as if they are bound.
I crawl very slowly, creating no sound,
And hide on the other side of a mound,
Praying that I won't be found.

As that someone searches all around.

A large rock in my hand I take,
As I feel my bodies constant quake,
As my bed I begin to make.
Hoping safety for my sake.
My mouth thirsts for even a snow flake.
Soon from this nightmare I will awake.

I awake in the early morning light,
My heard feeling a touch of delight.
Knowing that I have made it through another night.
But just as quickly regaining the feelings of fright.
I slowly stand to look, but find no one in sight.
I am now ready to make my freedom flight.

It's time now to take that dare.
And run across the fields so bare.
Pulling the snarls from my hair,
Looking down at the torn clothes I wear.
Across the field I stare.
As the sun in my eyes begins to glare.

I've made it, I am now free.
My feelings now those of glee.
I thank god for answering my plea.
Now I look around to see.
To safety I have made my flee.
But, I am still alone I stand, just me.
