Search engines: Viable alternatives to Google

Google and the other search engines are not the only show in town......

What do l mean? A few years ago l wanted to go on holiday and typed in the destination and google returned lots of pages that had the keyword l typed in but most of the information was a waste of time and off topic......

I tried other search engines and they also used the same type of search criteria and l was left with a sense of frustration from my searches.

The problem was on page search engine optimization methods that webmasters used to get on the coverted first page of the search engines all of them trying to get to number one spot in the free organic listings which is silly really because just like in the film there can only be one number one and there lays the problem, just what do the other hundreds of thousands do to get their webpages or website much needed targeted visitors?

Now with the latest google updates and their good intentions to give their customers a good search experience they have introduced Latent Semantic Indexing which is basically the more relevant your keywords that are more matched to your theme the more points you get from google in the great race to climb the rankings, however all things on the internet are not equal and you really do need to keep abreast of the search engine optimization field to get anywhere these days.

So you now have to look for viable alternatives to google.......

From a marketing point of view you can build your exposure without any of the search engines and here are a few methods that are fast free and work every time.....

Social Networking
The rise of myspace which currently has around 165 million profiles should tell you that they are a serious alternative to google, you can visit myspace click on a subject and category and have a great search experience or if you want to market anything, you just set up your own profiles and build your friends lists and send them bulletins which are just the same as an email.

Squidoo is another great place where you can search for great content or produce your own lens or webpage which is free to do and include any links you wish.

Facebook is another social networking hub thats mainly for younger people but it hits the target market and teenagers love the site.

There are endless new social networking sites now growing so fast that google have now announced that you can have a free google webpage of your own in an attempt to stop the flow of customers joining the social networking sites.

You have seen the rise
