Why not sell your car through a Car Auction. Its takes away the stresses of having to advertise vehicles and have people coming back to you with stupid offers.
Top 10 reasons why selling through auction is the best solution.
1, No comeback to the purchaser. All vehicles are sold as seen at most auctions. This means that once the hammer drops, the vehicle is sold as a binding contract to the bidder.
2, Some companies offer valeting, so get the car nice and clean and in showroom finish.
3, The vehicle will be off your drive and securely stored away at the centre until sold.
4, some auctions even catalogue their vehicles, promoting more interest.
5, no need to advertise, they will do all of that for you.
6, You dont get to see the purchaser, and they wont get to meet you. This means that there is a less chance that the purchaser will come back to you with problems. This will all be dealt with through the auction company.
7, Mostly trader purchase through auctions, which means more bids and generally more money for you.
8, Some auctions allow you to put reserves on vehicles. Be careful though as some state that any vehicle over 5 years old, is sold for the highest bid. Which means it could go for more or less than you want.
9, DVLA, The auction will notify DVLA of the new owner as soon as it is sold. So no declaring sorn on vehicles which are not taxed.
10, Refurbishment. If your car has dents and scratches which may reduce the selling price, why not get a quote and gain more from auction.
A Few things to be aware of when selling through auction.
1, V5 (logbook) auctions will not sell vehicles without one from a private individual
2, Commission, some companies charge 10% of the selling price, other have fixed rates. find out before selling your car.
3, Provisional bids, make sure that any bid is dealt with through yourself, not a third party as if the price is accepted, there is no going back.
4, Experian checks. Vehicles on finance, category write offs, repairable, stolen, plate changes will all show up. This can stop you from selling the car. Anything showing that isnt true, must be dealt with by yourself.
