Frequent travellers and vacation travellers! whoever it may be - everyone is concerned on the airfares. It happens normally when we get shocked to hear the nearby passengers airfare which may be very low when compared to yours. Here are some tips to reduce your shock.
1. Before booking flight tickets the first thing you should do is to compare different airlines and airfares using online fare comparison tools. Not only the airfares but also the service they provide. Because people have different opinion while travelling some will be concerned on airfares whereas some on the service they offer.
2. Always try to schedule the travel early and book tickets to get the cheapest possible. Early ticket booking will save your dollars as well as it will reduce the tension on the availability.
3. Research says, from Tuesday evening to Wednesday morning is the apt time to book tickets. Monday and weekends are dedicated for the business executives and holiday goers where the demand is high and the reschedule of the airfares usually starts from thursday and hence wednesday is best day to book tickets.
4. Saturday stay - If you have flexibility on one of your travel dates, consider including a Saturday stay. Although some airlines are experimenting with doing away with this practice, most tend to reserve the lowest fares for itineraries that include a Saturday night stay. Saving can easily be 50%.
5. Try to book a round trip in the same airlines. Choose one airline for the entire trip. Try booking a normal hour of flight rather than a rush hour travel. Because these non rush hour flight will have some discounts and also availability.
6. Extend the airport search by avoiding major airports and flying out of smaller, less popular ones, you may find more availability on major carriers and have access to the many budget airlines that tend to use alternate airports as bases of operation.
7. There are some last minute sites like Site59, Lastminutetravel.com and last minute news like USAtoday.com, webflyer, bestfares.com and travelsoom.com. And also there are auction or disocunt sites like hotwire.com, priceline.com. Try out these!
