Taking extreme measures to tackle over-population

Here in the UK pressure groups are trying to make it compulsory to donate body organs to others when we die. We will have the option of opting out but if you don't it could be made law that you contribute to the donation program. Anyone would think that the human race is on the verge of extinction. Whatever happened to nature and its way of natural selection? I believe that drug companies (and future organ donation)are making money out of societies fear of death.

What then is this fear of death all about? Why are we so afraid of dying? Death is a natural consequence of living. Trying to control when and how we die is futile. Is it the not knowing when it is going to happen and the way in which it will happen the problem? Does prolonging the pain of ill health with drugs and organ donations really help the one who is suffering in pain or is it those who are left behind that fear the loss of the loved one? I believe it is the fear of loss that is controlling the need for drugs and organ donations. I should perhaps say donations and drugs because the use of a donated organ relies on drug use after-wards to avoid rejection of the organ and other complications.

Letting our loved ones go is a painful experience and the feelings of loss and grief can engulf us. Why do we encourage our loved ones to cling to life regardless of the its quality? If its for our own sakes then this is a selfish and inhumane thing to do. Feelings of grief are difficult to cope with, the emptiness of life without our loved ones around us seems unfathomable. How then do we deal with the feelings of loss so that we can let our loved ones die in peace rather than in pain. Don't get me wrong living with the help of drugs especially alternative medicines when you are a young person with a quality of life is different but older people being kept alive on drugs just to lie in bed all day suffering just seems completely futile.

The feelings of loss (and grief) that follow death are relating to the empty feeling inside. We often try to fill this void with material objects often trinkets and pretty ornaments. This decadence is causing us more difficulty environmentally and in the long term will destroy rather than repair. Often it is creativity that fills the void. Having children or being artistic. But the best solution is to fill that void with love. Our own love. From our own hearts. So many hearts are closed owing to trauma of life that we don't really know what real love is. Opening a closed heart is a huge task but can be done if we let nature take its course. The feelings of grief open the heart and let the love in. So avoiding the grief means we are avoiding the love too. If our inner world is full of love then we are more resilient to life, embracing the pleasure and enduring the pain.

The 'not knowing' is what I believe really annoys us human beings and creates the fear of death...the not knowing when we will die is frustrating because we think we know everything! The not knowing when we will die challenges our arrogance as a race, finding tolerance or acceptance is a life lesson to us all. To do this we need courage to feel the loss and express the grief and open our hearts.

Nature will take its course regardless of how much we try to control it. The climate changes owing to over population will take lives whether it be drowning in flooding disasters or the toll of the strain of the crises. The decadence of the 21st century will lower our resistance to any natural disaster and will result in death anyway. Therefore nature will control the population not us.
