Journalistic integrity is already at the forefront in such a media-frenzied society; our country doesn't need to add bloggers and citizen journalists to the fray of those covering Congress or any other government body.

Believe it or not, journalists earn a degree just like CPAs, teachers, doctors, or any other professional. There is no reason to believe that the vast majority of credentialed media aren't doing an excellent job. There's also no reason to believe that Joe Schmo should have equal access simply because he wants to. I want to be a CEO earning millions a year, but I don't have the degree nor the qualifications.

Joe Schmo has delusions of grandeur that he can ask the tough questions and write the revealing expose and cover Congress with the fortitude of Edward R. Murrow. This experiment would be synonymous to allowing prisoners to decide the daily schedule at Sing-Sing. There's just no reason for it. Credentialed media earn their badges and press passes with years of hard work or the luck of drawing a particular beat.

Let's not degrade a profession constantly under attack by allowing every Tom, Dick and Harry the same privileges as those who have spent their careers honing their skills.
