Maintaining a healthy heart

My father had a severe heart attack a few years ago, and since then i have thought very hard about what i eat and changed my lifestyle.

The uttermost important part of having a healthy heart is exercise. lacking too much of this will make you feel sluggish and tired. Have at least 30Min's walk each day.

Secondly is drink lots of water. This magic elixir will flush away any toxins and will help to keep your skin clear. drink at least 8 pints a day. try it with juice.

cut out sugary and salty products. don't stop having them altogether, just cut down. it will make a difference.

have vitamins and minerals. vitamin B6, garlic and cod liver oil are all good for women.

swimming, believe it or not but you actually burn a lot of calories whilst engaging in this sport.

stop smoking, this played a big part in causing my fathers heart attack. he smoked 15 a day.

laugh and have fun. laughing burns of calories and increases your body's estrogen levels making you feel good.

finally, don't worry too much. every one worries, but is it really necessary. the problem always seems to go away and is never as bad as you expect.

also, why not ask you GP to do a cholesterol check on your blood. it will give you piece of mind and will help you to reduce it, if your level is high.
