Investing mistakes to avoid

In investing, perhaps the mistake that most people make is to procrastinate their investment to a later time. If the investment time frame is short, it would require a higher rate of return in order to grow their retirement funds. Higher rate of return will imply a higher risk factor. In this case, it would result a higher chance that the retirement funds will not attain the goal. Instead, they might risk losing a portion of their retirement funds.

Compounding is a way to accumulate your wealth using the power of time. With a longer time frame, chances are that you will able to accumulate sufficient retirement funds.
For example,
Scenario A - Investing $1000 for 50 years @ 7% return will give you about $30,000.
Scenario B - Investing $2000 for 30 years @ 7% return will give you about $15,000.

From the 2 different scenarios shown above, it is clear that if you start early for your investment, it will help to accumulate your wealth with minimum of money putting in.
