Baby Girl
(December 13th, 1988)
I wish you could look through my eyes and see what I see
A perfect little angel of God, so pure and so innocent as can be
This little bundle of life, precious and beautiful
All I want is the best for you and your future
I want your world to be vibrant and colorful
Safe and overflowing with love
This little girl was incredibly hard to let go of
My heart broke having to say good-bye
Walking away from you, peering through the glass
So very sad, I wish all of these emotions would pass
I wish I could've taken your little hand, held you in my arms
Looked down into your beautiful blue eyes
And whispered my good-byes
Knowing I would not see you again
Made me cry like the pouring rain
I try to be strong but I feel broken
I will live the rest of my days grief unspoken
You are all grown up now, a beautiful girl, this I know
Because my heart is telling me so
The pain and void in my heart
Will never leave me, it will never part
I pray you do not grow up bitter towards me
I did what I thought was best for you
Through and through
Even though we are apart
Now and forever, you will always have my heart
All I have is one moment in time, one memory
I am very thankful I have that
I hope we meet again one day
This I pray
My little baby girl
