Smartphones & PDA Phones

What would you improve about smartphones (cellphone, camera, PDA, MP3 combo devices), anything at all...?

The issues I have with smartphones is I am never happy with them. So far I have owned the Blackberry 8700r, Nokia E61, and the HTC S621. Every one these phones I have had issues with. The most significant issue so far, for myself, is the amount of options compared to usability. My main concern is that, these phone manufacturing companies seem to be more focused on cramming limitless options into the phone with no regard for the end-user's ability to use them.

Horribly overcomplicated menu screens, too many different folders where each function is stored, and ridiculous functions with no proper everyday use.

I believe I would be satisfied with a smartphone that ensured I wouldn't be spending half my time trying to find saved files I have Downloaded, where the calculator has been stored now, why there is these useless programs I cannot delete because they are embedded in the software.

Why is is not possible to receive our smartphones with the basic settings, and foundation of the software with the possibility to add which programs we require on a daily basis which could be found on the manufacturers website.

I would appreciate the ability to create my own interface template to accommodate my accessibility needs. I am not a fan of receiving any form of technology that is of a generic format, where I am forced to use it according to the manufacturers assumption that this is the most efficient way to use the piece of technology. I want options plain and simple, I want control over my property, I want the manufacturers to provide these options openly and easily on their website. Is that too much to ask?
