Feedback - A Note To An Intimate Stranger -
How 'd you get inside my head?
I just can't figure out
How you made your words speak right to me
We've not met; there is no doubt.
I only meant to read (one click)
I didn't mean to snoop.
I didn't know that you knew me,
That you would not be duped.
I read, and sit a little straighter. Who, me?'
My heart pounds with fight or flight.
Don't be silly,' I think, realistically
Still, I'm caught up in the things you write.
You're words, they struck a chord in me
A shiver of recognition.
Uncannily, you've invaded me
Without my expressed submission.
Though you have no way to see me
From you, I cannot hide.
Your words, like arrows, hit their mark
Touched an obscure place deep inside.
I go through my day as always, but
At edges of my thought still you creep.
Did you know you did influence me
Without uttering a peep?
