School Boards should definitely ban peanut products from being brought into our schools. If there is even one student within a specific school community, who has a life-threatening allergy to peanuts/tree nut products, that particular school should totally ban peanut/tree nut products. Children's lives should never be put in jeopardy, when there are simple and practical solutions available to protect them.

Fortunately, none of my children have an allergy to peanuts/tree nuts, and I certainly hope that they never develop this allergy. I know several children who do have a very serious peanut allergy. Why should we stand by and put these children at risk, day in and day out. School is one setting where we do have some control over what our children are exposed to.

I have had an anaphylactic reaction to medication. This type of life-threatening allergy is very frightening for an adult to experience. How can we expect children to face the very real possibility of death, over something so trivial; peanut/tree nut products are not the only type of food available to our children...there are so many choices available.

It is time that we all, as responsible adults, put our children's health and safety ahead of something so trivial, such as a peanut butter sandwich. Children's lives are precious...let's not jeopardize their lives!
