Packing for college: Avoid procrastination and be prepared

Going off to college can be both exciting and nerve racking. I can remember staying up until the wee hours of the morning the night before to make sure that I had everything I needed and that nothing was forgotten. When I arrived at school however, I realized that some of the items that were on my list of priorities turned out to be useless to me, and I also realized that there were a few key items that were missing from my list. So here are my recommendations of things that you must have when going to college.

1. Bring a memory foam mattress topper. This may seem a bit weird, but sleep is the most important thing in college, over-sleeping, not getting enough sleep, sleeping through classes, lol, it all has to do with your bed and you should want it to be the best. Sleeping on a comfortable bed will leave you refreshed and will be the perfect retreat after a long day

2. Shower shoes. I cannot stress this enough, and not because I am a germaphobe. Shower shoes protect your feet from all of the gross gunk that collects on your shower when you realize that its December and it hasn't been washed once.

3. Sentimental Items. If going to college is the first time that you have been away from home, then it can be hard, and having that pic of you and your sister on her last birthday, or the video of you getting your first puppy can help you cope when there are hard times at school.

Outside of these three things, obviously the essentials like: a computer, notebooks,an alarm clock, etc. But these three items have made my college experience that much more comfortable, clean and enjoyable!
