An important rule for long term weight management is to watch your carbohydrates consumption with a eagle eye.
Among the carbohydrates, you can count: bread, pastry products, sugar (so that means cake, chocolate and anything delicious), potatoes, corn etc.
Here are some simple 4 rules to follow if you want to maintain your carbohydrates level low:
1. Don't eat sugar!
Yes, i said it! And at beginning also! Sugar is something very unhealthy for your body (and i am not speaking only about the fat on your tummy, also your teeth can be damaged, and diabetes is a very serious illness). Instead of putting sugar into your morning coffee for example, go with artificial sweetener. Also when you are cooking cakes or sweets, use sweetener instead of sugar. But be carefully, some sweeteners are for diabetics, and have the same amount of carbohydrates as the sugar (around 90 of 100g).
2. Soy products are a good substitute
Soy flour contains carbohydrates, but a really low amount comparing to other cereals. And it is used for different kind of products, some delicious. Attention, read the labels well, so it will not contain altered soy beans.
3. Fruits are good, but not right after the meal
If you want to eat something sweet, fruits are always a good solution. But one rule here also: don't eat them right after a meal because it will not be digested well. Wait 2 hours at least after a meal, and then you can have all the fruits you want!
4. Don't drink bear!
Bear has maltose, which is rich in carbohydrates. So stay away from bear, and if you want something to drink a better choice is a glass of red wine instead.
