The best Texas holdem poker hands

In the exciting world of poker there are many possible outcomes to any hand. In Texas Hold'em two cards are dealt to each player. These are the two most important cards in making a winning hand. The following is a list of the strongest starting hands.

1. AA- Pocket aces is the strongest hand on its own; it can also be used to make two pair, three of a kind, a full house, and four of a kind.

2. KK- A pair of kings is also a strong hand on its own. Just like Pocket aces it can be used to make two pair, three of a kind, a full house, and four of a kind.

3. QQ- A pair of queens is the same as a pair of aces or kings, only a little less strong of a hand.

4. AKs- The ace king suited, while not a strong hand on its own, can be used to make one pair, two pair, a straight, three of a kind and the very rare four of a kind and royal flush.

5. AQs- The ace queen suited is just like the ace king suited, but not quite as strong.

6. JJ- A pair of jacks is a moderate hand on its own; With it, there is a reasonably good chance of walking away with the pot. It can also be used to create make two pair, three of a kind, a full house, and four of a kind.

7. KQs- A king queen suited is not a strong hand on its own, but can be used to make a pair, two pair, three of a kind, a straight, a straight
flush, four of a kind, and a royal flush.

8. AJs- The ace jack suited is essentially the same as the king queen
suited.

9. AK- The ace king unsuited is definitely not a strong hand on its own. However, It can be used to make a pair, two pair, a straight, three
of a kind, and four of a kind.

10. 1010-A pair of tens is the worst of the best. This hand is not particularly strong on its own but can be made into two pair,
three of a kind, a full house, and four of a kind.

These are only the top ten combinations to start off with. They have to best chance of being made into a winning hand, but having them doesn't mean that winning is ensured. Remember there's a reason it's called gambling; anything can happen.
