Why wouldn't we want to be equal? OK, there might be men who still like to be in charge of everything and don't want any woman to have anything to do with whatever they do. But I think that's a small minority. And I can't imagine that there's any woman who doesn't want to be equal to men.
But the problem is that equal and similar are often words that are mixed up. Men and women should be equal, but they are as different as a tomato and a pumpkin. Both are vegetables and that's it. Men and women are both humans and that's about the only thing we have in common. Do we want that to change? Maybe some people do, but it's just plain stupid to want that. God created men and women complementary to each other. Men are good with certain things and women are good with totally different things. Together they can make a great team.
Now we must try to change the general idea that what men do is more important than what women do. Because men have ruled society for so long their tasks and talents are considered more important than the work women do. And that's not fair. When you have kids they need to be raised and educated and when you live in a house the housekeeping needs to be done. These are two very important jobs that women are 100 times better with than men. Unfortunately they are also jobs that get very little recognition, especially as you don't get paid for them. And money seems to be the most important thing in life nowadays.
So if we want men and women to be really equal, we must change the mindset of society. We must accept that men and women both have their own qualities and that one can't exist without the other. Which means that what women do is just as important as what men do and they should be equally valued for that. If that would happen then women wouldn't have problems anymore with not having a paid job and "only" raising the children.
Now the only problem that's left is: how are we going to achieve this?
