Tips for finding the right horse for you.
Marvelous, your ready for your very own horse. Let us go over a few steps, just so you can locate your precious treasure. Things for you to ponder are: What exactly are you going to use your horse for? What kind of experience do you have with horses? Know your size. What is your favorite color and breed of horse?
Are you going to use your horse for show, dressage, racing or for everyday recreation? Think about your need and go check out reputable breeder's in your locality. I work with horse's in the art of dressage, i have a beautiful Gray Hanoverian, suits my purpose for a great dressage horse perfectly. Hanoverian's are beautiful and easy to train. So again think about the purpose you will be using your horse for.
Next is size. Are you of small stature? If you are you will not need a huge Seventeen hand horse, look for a smaller horse. Are you overweight? Don't get a small horse. You wouldn't want to hurt the horse. Are you tall? Feel free to purchase a big horse, you will be able to handle it well.
As for having horse experience, this is an important area. If you have very little knowledge of horse's try getting a horse that has some experience. A horse that is already broken in a bit, with some training. For those with experience and knowledge of horses, study the horses confirmation and always look into the horse's background as this is time well spent and will save you future troubles with your horse.
Before you purchase the horse of your dreams, make sure you not only give it the once over. Whomever you purchase your horse from should be quite amicable to you riding it, spending some time with the horse and here is a big one. The seller should happily provide you with background information, health information and papers. Make sure before purchasing a horse that your veterinarian checks out the horse.
Where to find your dream horse? Research the breed of your choice first. Visit horse breeders. Have a look at private sellers. Go to a horse auction. Last but not least there are many loving, healthy horses residing at horse rescues that need a good home. Take your time looking for your dream horse. This is a big decision that you are planning. Make it wisely.
