Heavy metal a subject which i hold close to memory i hold many memories of heavy metal from my early beginnings listening to sabbath and Saxon and from when my father came home with a copy of pantera cowboys from hell.my taste has evolved.i have embraced all metal that is present from progressive metal to black metal and and everything in between.But my friends always ask me what is heavy metal?

it is just shouting and has no melody or complex structure
metal can be all sorts of things from
the sing along power metal and the spirit of mythology and crowd presence
to the death metal were the subjects of more war,gore and headbanging are present
metal is a diverse world
not every metal is the same.
metal can be something that you believe in and take with you everyday
in metal they are many genres sub genres and cross overs
you cant determine one metal from a another but all remain as unique as each other
metal as a culture?
some metal in sub genres can represent cultures of places,people,scene,society and view of life
and different scenes for example
viking metal-Scandinavia
Florida death metal-Florida
power metal-Europe
thrash metal-san Francisco/Germany
grindcore/bla ck metal-UK
melodic death metal-gotten burg usually
doom metal-new Orleans
vidic metal-southern Asia
extreme metal-Oceania
but that doesn't mean to say you cant cross boundaries
take a look at what you see and enjoy it
believe or not heavy metal is a very cultural experience
every band is different and they all come together to do what they love
be amazed by heavy metal in ain't all what its stereotyped to be it is great music that is diverse and brings together many people who can produce truly great music
