Do you want true or temporary happiness?

Rewards of Honesty

You are happy. You have comfort in your heart, soul, mind, and body. You are given respect and trust from others. You have high self-esteem and others have confidence in you as a honest person. Many of my friends and family have come to rely on the fact that I can give an honest opinion and thought on something. From how they look in a shirt to showing them a way to admit their true feelings about a loved one. I like that I am trusted by many.

Repercussions of Lying

You tell the truth or lie and deal with all the mental dilemmas of getting caught, being distraught, trying to remember the lie, and more. You are distraught throughout your entire being. You have hurt feelings and built distrust. If you are forgiven, it will still take a great deal of time to rebuild trust with a person. You could lose that person forever. You could deal with that person coming back at you with much deception and lies. Claiming it is Karma.

Being Human

Being that we are human, I guarantee there are times when I did not state 100% truth. Maybe I left something out. There is not room for half truth or a white lie. I had to immediately apologize and tell someone everything. That is the only way to maintain a healthy relationship with each person you know.

Stern Honesty/Brutal Truth

Even when it hurts, I tell the truth. I have always been this way. Even when it is an "in your face" situation and possibly the truth hurts the person you care about most. I hit hard with my first comment and that says it all. For those that need further explanation, I allow them the opportunity to get out the truth first before I show them what is true. For questions aimed at me, my thoughts are -Bring it on! I have nothing to hide and share everything . Maybe a little too much at times.

Long -Term Commitment to Honesty

I refuse to lie, cheat, steal, or manipulate to get ahead in life. Sometimes, my life has many obstacles, and I wish I could use that a method. Then, I remember the repercussions. I hold tight to one phrase:" I would have a lot to lose and nothing to gain if I lied." This keeps me honest and understanding that when someone lies, they always lose.

Honesty IS the only option! You can see what the difference is between true and temporary happiness is.

True Happiness is always being honest and being greatly rewarded in life. Temporary happiness is dishonesty for personal gain or for harm. Usually, you are only harming yourself in the end.
