Revolutionize mobile computing? No. Evolution, definately.

This iPhone is not a reboot of the mobile computing industry. It does not do anything different from any other mobile computing device out on the market a year ago. This is a mobile computing device with an iPod Video strapped to it's back.

Is this a cool device? Undoubtedly. And of course it has sold out, it's an Apple product! Who else has such a rabid "fan" base?

Everything Apple does recently has been touted by the public as the greatest "next thing" ever. People lined up to buy a smart phone with iPod functions. And paid out the nose for it.

For my money (and the fact that AT&T doesn't even have service in my area), if I want to do the "revolutionary" things the iPhone does, then I'll grab my cell phone and my laptop. Then I can surf the web, make phone calls, and even be able to see my movies on a screen that I can actually see the details.

Apple is on the right track, and down the road this may have been the first step, but for me, this is not a "must have" device. Too expensive, poor coverage in my area, and I already have the same features in my other devices. That does not sound revolutionary now, does it?
