I saw this topic and I just thought "AGGGHH! Not this again!"... but I'm still going to write, because I'm bored and, just like everyone else, believe that my opinion is important.

I love Metal, but I'm not overly fond of rap and so Metal is going to get my vote every time in this debate. However, I'm not going to sit here and try to talk someone out of listening to rap. I'm not a teenager anymore and other people's music tastes mean very little to me. As long as bands continue to make Metal that I enjoy then I'm a happy bunny!

As for the effect that listening to Rap or Metal has on the listener...
For the most part, most stable people are not going to shoot someone because a Rap song implies that they should or burn down a church because a Metal song told them to. We as a society need to stop trying to blame music and other forms of art for our own failings. We need to take some responsibility.
