For a country with the most number of obese people in the world, it is only right for restaurants to list calories and fat grams. This would help to drive home the point. Very often people forget that the junk food like burgers, pizza, coke that they love are to blame for their obesity.

Lot of people actually don't believe that this type of food is high in calories and fat or they want to deny acceptance. So having the grams on the menu card or on the walls of a restaurant will serve as a reminder and help them to realise how much of it they are partaking with their meal.

Some people who are serious about their health actually take steps to reduce these every time they consume high amount of calorie or fat. For such people it will help to know how much they have to burn at the gym to undo the impact of that meal.

Not just in the restaurant, they should in fact be prominently displayed on all food and liquid items that have calorie and gram. This will also help to increase awareness among people.

It is high time Americans wake up to the high levels of calorie and fat in their bodies and start taking steps to bring them under control. This way there will be healthy people and a more healthy country.
