All I can say is, thank God for the public library. Not a subscriber to HBO and unwilling to pay all the rental fees needed to watch the numerous discs of the series (although I would have if necessary), I was able to watch the entire series over a period of several months because my local library carries all the DVD's.
Superb, fantastic, and wonderful don't even come close to describing this show. To me, it is the absolute BEST show I have ever watched. As far as series finales go, this too, was the best I've ever seen-a wonderful resolution of all the characters and so fitting for the overall theme of the show. I actually sat and rewatched the ending of the last show several times over, just so I could continue to cry and release all my emotions about it. Usually when a show I have loved watching goes off the air, I hope for a "reunion" movie in several years to follow-up the characters. As much as I loved this show, this couldn't and shouldn't be done because the ending was so complete and satisfying.
My two favorite characters on the show were Ruth and Claire, especially when they interacted with each other. I look forward to seeing what else these two actresses will do, because I believe they give such powerful performances.
If Alan Ball can create a new series that is even half as good as Six Feet Under, he will give us something highly worth watching.
