All perfect packaging,
In the displays of
Psychedelia and stark.
Inaccessible and utterly unique,
Snobbish hysteria.
Strange things all around,
Strips hang off racks
Like spectral entrails
Of the Confusion -
- Master Marketeer,
Maker of really nothing.
He accepts cards and cash,
Parted from the rash
Fauxlanders who never learn,
Constantly celebrating cultish
Out-of-turns culled
From backyards that litter
Bangkok to London.
Entering their enclave, I tripped
In disbelief at the doorstep.
Crashed right into the shoe racks,
Uttering curses in apology,
All while the boutique-keep
Stares on like an effigy.
