Gifts in a Jar
Here is a great recipe you can give as a gift. I give these Gifts in a Jar as Christmas gifts. They can be an additive to gifts or they also make great thoughtful gifts during the holidays to school teachers, mail carriers and all others. With nice presentation this gift is a great decoration as well.
Peanut Butter Bars
Makes 24 bars
Mix
* cup chopped salted peanuts
* cup brown sugar
* cup sugar
* 1 tsp. baking soda
* 1 tsp. salt
* cup peanut butter chips
* 1 cup flour
Pack each layer in order given into a 1-quart canning Jar.
Dress up the Jar however you see fit and you have got yourself a great gift for someone or keep them for yourself, for that last minute bake sale or just your typical sweet tooth craving!
Neatly print or type up the mixing and baking instructions on a tag you will tie to the neck of the Canning (Mason) Jar.
1 Jar Peanut Butter Bar Mix
cup softened butter or margarine
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
cup peanut butter
Preheat oven to 350 F. In a large bowl, cream the butter, egg and vanilla.
Blend in peanut butter. Add the Peanut Butter Bar Mix and blend well.
Spread batter in lightly greased 9x12 inch pan. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
Allow bars to cool in pan before cutting into squares.
Create your own Gifts in a Jar recipes by separating all the dry ingredients that will fit in the 1-quart jar. Make sure you include your instructions with your jar.
A small square of fabric tied by a bit of raffia is a nice finishing touch to your gift.
