Should I upgrade to Microsoft Office 2007?

After my computer crashed last week, I ended up doing a full system restore and losing everything. I had to reinstall Word so decided to go with the 60 day free trial of 2007, downloading it right from the Microsoft website. It was an easy and quick download with no problems at all. My computer had been down for a week so I was anxious to get things back and running and get back to my Associated Content writing. When I first opened the new Word 2007, I was a bit overwhelmed and for a minute thought I might get rid of it in preference for my old 2003 version. I really didn't have the time or inclination to learn a new system. I just wanted to get some words down and finish up a couple of articles. Curiosity got the best of me though, and I decide to look round a bit and click on some of the headings to see what was new and different. The first thing that caught my eye was the tab called "References". Click on it and a whole new world opens up, a writer's heaven. You can easily do footnotes, endnotes and most importantly citations. Citations in the correct format, with no guesswork involved and no need to pull out the reference book or head to a reference website. You simply click on the format you want, APA, MLA, Chicago ad a host of others I never even heard f before. You have an option to add a new source and simply type in the requested information. Word 2007 formats it correctly, inserts it where you want and then maintains a list for you to use as you work on the document. I immediately called my, soon to be college freshman daughter to come and look at this amazing find. This feature alone is an amazing time saver and organizational help. So then I got really curious and started clicking all over the place. Word 2007 has a translation feature which lets you change your text to another language in an instant. You can change a sentence, a paragraph or an entire document into Spanish, French, and Chinese, anything you want. You can also get the option to pay for a professional translation if you need that assurance. The "Inserts "tab seems much more user friendly and there are a wider variety of choice including art, pictures, graphics, tables and charts. There's also a great option to use for publishing your work to a blog or website. The layout of the tabs and options is so much clearer than it was in Word 2003. Everything seems to be at your fingertips rather than hunting around. I've been using this new version for only a day and feel completely at home with Word 2007. I'll have to do a lot of writing over the course of the next sixty days, if I want to pay to keep this Word 2007 after the trial period. It may be worth the work.
