Effective ways to network for overworked entrepreneurs

Feeling like there's no time for networking? You're busy taking care of your business, your family and so many other activities that squeezing in the time to meet new people is almost an impossible situation. Still, you know that networking is a valuable part of the growth of your business. Well, networking need not be a chore any longer. Practicing just a few of the following things will ensure that you are still networking without overworking yourself. Learn to make networking a part of your lifestyle!

1. Obtain and use a business card. Have a card holder at your business location. Also carry business cards with you where ever you go.

2. Make it a point to pass out your business card at least once a day to anyone new you might meet. You don't have to prospect at this point; just get into the habit of passing out your business card on a daily basis.

3. Get in the habit of asking for one referral each day. This can be done using the telephone, as you distribute your card, or through the mail. People know other people. Learning to tap in to the power of obtaining referrals from past customers will spur your business to new heights with this one simple activity.

4. Use the power of technology to aid in building and developing your networking relationships. Keep in touch using the phone or via email. You can even take your networking online!

5. Change your daily routine and position yourself to be in a place that allows you to network. For example, instead of having lunch with the same people at the same place, consider dining with new people at a different location.

People are important and taking the time to find them, meet them, and keep in touch with them can be difficult to do. By making networking a lifestyle, you'll find that the task of networking becomes easier to accomplish. You'll also start to see your business grow as you reach out to more people.
