The Only Bruschetta Recipe You'll Ever Want To Make
I love garlic and tomato combined with fresh herbs, and I love bread. Bruschetta is a quick, easy appetizer that can add to any dinner party or wine tasting.
I have been making a different kind of bruschetta for a few years now that involves no tomato or garlic, and it's absolutely delectable. It's an apple/blue cheese bruschetta, and it's a big hit!
Apple Blue Cheese Bruschetta
What you'll need:
1 french baguette, sliced thin (about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick)
1 apple (I use Macintosh; the sweeter, the better!) peeled, cored, and sliced thin
crumbled blue cheese
3-4 TB honey
3 TB butter, room temperature
1. Combine the honey and butter until smooth, spread onto the slices of bread. Broil the bread until the edges are golden brown; remove from broiler.
2. Add slices of apple, and top with crumbled blue cheese. Return to the broiler, and remove when the blue cheese is melted.
3. Enjoy!
It's super easy to make, and goes great paired with a nice dry cabernet.
