An Entrepreneur is somebody with a vision. Entrepreneurs can have many varying qualities but they all have a clarity of thought that enables them to identify an opportunity and 'see' the potential.
Entrepreneurs have a fantastic ability to think laterally and are able to find their way around a problem. This can sometimes be misinterpreted as creativity, when it is fact simply the ability to make leaps in their mind. This clear thinking is what enables Entrepreneurs to cut to the chase and easily see what is important and what is not. Most Entrepreneurs are quite direct and and sure of themselves because they are able to visualise so clearly.
All Entrepreneurs are also consumed by their passion for their vision. This obsessive trait provides them with a drive and determination, and self confidence in their vision, that distinguishes them from most people. The passion blinds Entrepreneurs from fear of failure, the "but it's too brilliant to fail" mindset, and is what gives Entrepreneurs the motivation to work hard to make their vision a reality.
A successful Entrepreneur is also characterised by good people skills. They have a great ability to get on with people and so forge relationships and contacts. This networking ability is vital in most businesses.
The ability to see every mountain as a hill. The thing that strikes me about successful Entrepreneurs is the way they are never put off by the daunting task ahead. This can be, and usually is, because of ignorance of the scale of the challenge, but nevertheless Entrepreneurs see every hurdle and problem as something which can be worked around and as long as the fundamental business is good then it will be hugely successful.
Finally Entrepreneurs need a great deal of luck. Much of it may be self-made luck, perhaps through good networking, but Entrepreneurs seem to be propelled along by a succession of fortunate events and this aura is markedly different from most people.
