How to avoid Nigerian internet scams

Scam to so many other countries is almost synonymous with Nigeria. Infact Nigeria is almost the most corrupt nation in the world if not the most corrupt. From the seat of governmet to the ordinary citizen out there everyone is familiar with scam popularly called "419".

I could remember the first time I was scammed by this popular 419. I felt really stupid. Not as if I was greedy, {greed is one of the easiest ways innocent people fall prey}infact I thought I was helping someone else in need (thats another story).

The advent of the internet to Nigeria catapulted these scammers from the level of local scam to international scam. With the touch of a button people started becoming what they are not in a bid to get money/ credit card numbers , proclaiming false love, contracting buisnesses that do not exist etc. The bottom line is always a way to rid you of your hard earned cash.

Until I was a victim, I had imagined how easily "westerners" fall prey to their antics, but now I must admit these guys are really smart and do a lot of home work before they achieve their aim.

Before I lay down my pen, Let me sound a note of warning, If you find a deal too good to be true, or demanding money no matter how small, or you are outright uncomfortable with it even if it means helping some dying man, let your alarm go up immediately, a predator may be lurking around.
