Qualities successful entrepreneurs possess

The most important characteristic of any entrepreneur is courage, since starting a business is not for the faint of heart or those who would rather be job hunting or fishing. It is for those of you who want to take their future into their own hands. Over 1 million new businesses are started each year according to the Small Business Administration.
Many of today's best known companies were founded by entrepreneurs that stared doubt and disappointment in the face but were able to travail to the end of the journey. If you thinking of starting your own business, here is a short list of skills that you should posses before hand to help determine if you're ready to become your own boss.

Organized- keeping track of expenses and cost and staying ahead of schedules will be essential to your business.
Flexible-can you shift gears easily from mom to boss or from boss to husband on a moments notice?
Driven-How long can you work? Are you able to work 18 hour days without a day off?
Motivated- you must stay excited and enthusiastic about your product or service even when customers say no.
Creative-this is a trait that you can't really learn, but if you're smart enough you may find someone to help you with this skill.
Responsible-you have to be able to run errands, complete task and accomplish goals all at the same time.

If you are lacking in any of these areas, your chance at success may be hindered and I recommend that you pursue whatever avenue it will take to obtain training to improve your skills . The truth be told, the overall ability to become a successful entrepreneur is limited only by your willingness to work hard, smart and long towards your goal.

A search of your mind...heart...spirit will help you determine if you can manage your time and whether or not you are a self-starter with the experience and desire it will take to coordinate activities and events to create enough income to support your household.
I mean it, in every literal sense of the word, because you may find yourself and the rest of your family members all working together to make your business a success.

No matter how old you are never be afraid to try something new. If you think you've got what it takes, that's not good enough to waste your money starting a business. You have to know, that you know, that you know, that you have what it takes. Because if there is any doubt in your mind or you are struggling with the idea of self employment then you are not ready.

Once you have made up your mind to become America's next entrepreneur, I recommend that you get at least three people to be accountable to and help guide you.
1. A friend 2. Business person 3. Spiritual adviser

They can help to judge your commitment and progress on a regular basis as well as provide encouragement and motivation when the going gets rough. The most important step is to choose an income source that you enjoy and love, one that you would consider doing for free, because for a time it may seem that you are working for free, but in fact you are building goodwill, demand, supply or other important aspects of your business.

If you do make up your mind to become an entrepreneur get prepared, for virtually every twist and turn of circumstance and fate known to man, to test your sincerity of purpose and determination. Remember the race is not to the swiftest but those who endure to the end.
