Website recommendations for free online role-playing games

by Jerry

I personally have tried out many different role playing games hosted over the internet. I've tried games such as Runescape, MapleStory, Knight Online, Silkroad, etc.

My personal favorited out of all of the above games was by far MapleStory, for several reasons:

GRAPHICS
Even though the entire game is a 2D Side-Scroller, the animated graphics make the game awesome in my eyes. I love how the characters have the japanese animation look to them, and you can make your character look very cute, or just like yourself! There's virtually no limit to what all you can do to the appearance of your character... From Hair color, all the way down to the earrings they wear, your character is completely customizable!

SOUNDS
The sounds get repetitive, but I still love all of the attractive game sounds. Hit sounds are different for all different monsters, where in most games there is one hit sound, or none at all!

MASSIVE ITEM COLLECTION
There are an endless amount of possibilities for items that you could pick up. With other games, there are just a select few items in the game which are important. Every single item you pickup in this game is used for a quest or something else which is important to the gameplay. There's no limit to the ammount of weapons or armor in the game, because there are constant updates where new items are created and put into play! I loved the fact that I'd never get bored of the game, because there was always something new for me to do, or a new world I could visit and explore.

MANY DIFFERENT CHARACTER CLASSES
There are several different character classes to choose from. I liked the fact that you had to work towards the right to be in one of these classes, and then once you met the requirements, a grand character made you stronger and more powerful, depending on the class you choose. The beginning classes are: Magician, Theif, Warrior, and Archer. All of these different classes have other "jobs" leading off of them, which are available at higher levels. Whenever you are promoted to a higher job, your character has access to new items, better attacks, and more places are unlocked!

Overall, this game is very exciting. The fun never gets old, because you always have something to do, or somewhere to go. There are quests everywhere you go, and monsters are always readily available to be killed to gain experience and make your character more powerful! I love the overall gameplay to MapleStory, and would recommend going to www.maplestory.com and downloading it, to anyone that's interested in a very fun and intense, never-ending fun role playing game!
