I can't say that I wasn't, on some level, offended. To be honest a lot of society is offensive, but to shut down a man for a remark he made when so many other people make the same remarks on a day to day basis is a terrible offense to free speech.
Every day, I hear dozens of rap artists go on about how they're using women as objects and degrading them through remarks that are just as harmful, if not more, than calling them a 'nappy headed ho'. And what was the response? Snoop Dog talking about how they refer to 'women in the hood who aren't doing anything with their lives and deserve to be called as such'. To put it bluntly, it's hypocrisy. It's all right to call a woman who's not famous or independent a ho or the more fashionable 'b-word', but not if they're making money? Just because you're not rich you're at the lowest run of the ladder of female respect? Apparently so and it sickens me to this day to think that anyone could make such an ignorant comment.
I think that if rap artists can make videos of themselves standing in the middle of a ring of women, all dressed in 'booty shorts', and waving dollar bills at their behinds then Don Imus should definitely be given his show back. I think it is his right, as a citizen, to have Freedom of Speech just as every American has their ability to exercise their right to Freedom of Choice and turn to a different station.

Don Imus should not be allowed back on the air because he's not funny. I'm all for free speech, but I'm not for being bored.
