Poetry: Pain from love

by Mooky

When have I ever been unkind?
How did the world become so dim and the
Years so full of uncertainty?

Diving in the back of my mind,
I find the memories of us stuck away in closets, gathering
Dust that clouds the colors that used to shine so vibrantly.

Yesterday, we had the world between
Our palms and I could feel you,
Under me, supporting me, embracing me.

Loving me wasn't enough?
Even though I gave you my world and my heart,
All wrapped up in a basket with ambrosia and
Velvet ribbons, it wasn't
Enough?

My world is empty.
Empty like your soul.

And now that I think about it,
Lying here in my tears and suffering for what feels like an eternity,
Opulent words clamor about my brain, sensible words, and
Not even I can ignore them for they speak the
Everlasting truth.

Yearning for you is what I thought I was cursed to do.
Or maybe, as the words say, I was wrong. I'm not under you. You belong
Under me. Under the ground,

Bitter scars burning on your flesh,
Animals tearing you to bits and
Savage worms biting their way through your insides.
Time and time again, I gave you what you wanted and I hope you suffer.
A woman scorned is quite the enemy.
Remember: I know where you live.
Death is coming for you.

    You left me for another,
But I do not feel pain.
    I feel nothing.
    I am numb.
    Standing in the snow
    The wind blew against me.
