12 COMPETE AGAINST PERSONAL STANDARDS
People who are employed normally work toward satisfying standards that are set out by the employer. On the other hand, entrepreneurs tend not to be reactive - meeting the minimum requirements - but proactive, setting challenges for themselves. As they become proficient in what they are doing, they tend to re-examine their personal standards, and "raise the bar" for themselves.

13 DECISION MAKER
Entrepreneurs know that they will be facing decision every day. They also know that indecision, or putting off a decision until more information is available is usually the wrong course of action. They will make decisions, even under conditions of ambiguity, to give themselves a chance of being right. They will always monitor the outcome of their decisions, to determine whether new decisions are required to affect outcomes.

14 OPTIMISTIC
Successful entrepreneurs generally train themselves to be optimistic. This is a realistic optimism based on have done "all the ground work". Optimism is also a key factor when the entrepreneur experiences a set back. It is easy enough to become negative about reverses, but the entrepreneur tends to "bounce" back. No matter how great the set back, there exists an optimism that "some how, some way" success will be achieved. This optimism is not looking at the world "through rose colored glasses". Rather it is derived from confidence that the entrepreneur will find the emotional energy to bounce back.
