The Tides of Change
Perusing the tales of others
Launch me into a trip of nostalgia
seven years gone
feeling like lifetimes away
The men I've known, who were hesitant at times
I never could fathom their concerns
But I sit here remembering those old promises
the taste of pain writhing through me
to resist and control cravings which taste so sweet.
A crimson passion burns inside
but the shame of breaking oaths would sting, forevermore
in ways none should ever fathom.
The greatest challenge yet
is finding ways to survive.
