I believe that the WWE will continue to steadily decline. With the lack of competition, the promotion has not been nearly as successful, but that is far from the only reason as well.

One of the biggest reasons that wrestling has and will continue to decline is because of the negative public image the industry has contiued to get. The increasing amount of deaths have hurt the company's product, and that tarnished image will be hard to overcome, if not impossible.

Another reason the promotion is going to decline further is the perceived favoritism that goes on behind the scenes. For sometime now, many skilled and youthful wrestlers have been buried in story lines while veteran superstars continue to get pushes for main event status. The McMahon family has received much criticism for this, and many wrestlers behind the scenes have expressed concern over that. Plus, the McMahon family has involved themselves in story lines too much when other deserving wrestlers are in need of air time in order to build their characters.

My last reason is because of the dangerous environments that wrestlers work in. Wrestlers continue to get hurt at an alarming pace, and the industry already has a high turnover rate to begin with. With the lack of secure benefits, the future for getting more youthful wrestlers will likely be extremely difficult to maintain. With the working conditions likely to never improve, that will cause many wrestling careers to be cut prematurely, or not even get off the ground at all.
