Get rich quick (GRQ) "schemes" have been around for a long time, but the Internet has taken the practice to a new level. In the Internet marketing (IM) sector, where GRQ is most popular, "quick" takes on a new meaning, usually more like what the rest of the world would call "very slowly."

Today's gold rush has one thing in common with that of a hundred fifty years ago. Then too, the ones who got rich were those who sold work clothes and pick axes to all the dreamy-eyed miners.

What is today's equivalent of the tools of the trade? It is the book/software/package revealing the secrets to the success of their author. These authors (I think) did make a lot of money with these techniques, but there are really no secrets left.

Consensus is that we must optimize our pages for the search engines, build a mailing list, get high-quality links to our sites, offer our products and/or affiliate products, and let the numbers take care of themselves. Certainly there are wide variations in how we might accomplish each of these goals.

Look for reviews on products that serve your approach well, be very patient, and you could be selling your "secrets" before too long.
