Chart family trees five ways

with dates of birth, marriage and death will be shown and the value of this pattern is that it allows greater width to the family to include all those new names of people to whom you are related and of whom you had no knowledge before you started this project. These patterns are those usually used by the more serious student of genealogy, they are easier to read, allow for a larger type-face and demonstrate the links between the generations more clearly.

The more artistic will want to create their own style and pattern of family tree, one that will include as much of the newly discovered data as possible. They will combine the arts of calligraphy, design and creative display and produce a tree that is not only a clear record of their researches but also a work of art that will give pleasure as well as information to future generations as well as satisfaction to the creator.

Whatever style or pattern you finally decide upon, it will illustrate the history of your family, remind you of those who went before you and shaped your life in one way or another and of course provide an endless basis for discussion for everyone who sees it. Remember though genealogy is rather like a huge jig-saw puzzle with some of the bits missing, the final picture is never complete! Oh Yes! One final thing, whenever you look at your family tree, give thanks to those recorded on it for their input and bear in mind, if any one of them hadn't done what they did, you wouldn't be around now!
