Walking for inspiration

Ten Tips To Inspire, Have Fun and Be Smart While Walking:

1. Walk with your partner, children or a friend, you will be surprised how much you can really enjoy each other by walking and talking. You can mend, build and bond relationship at the same time you are doing something good for yourself.

2. Walk your dog, they love to walk too. If you don't have one, walk your neighbor's dog, he loves to walk too. Don't forget the pooper scooper!

3. Walk in the mall, and remember to keep walking and just window shop or this can turn in to a very expensive exercise. Just remember that after a few months you can walk into your favorite store and buy a new outfit for your new figure.

4. Walk in the park, or a park that you have never been to so that you can enjoy the new scenery. Take some nuts with you to feed the squirrels.

5. Walk with your Walkman. Listen to you favorite tunes that will take your mind off of the idea that you are exercising. Here's some good walking songs: Walking Shoes - Tanya Tucker, Walking Man - James Taylor, Walkin' By The River - Ella Fitzgerald, Walking Slow - Jackson Brown.

6. Walk with a goal in mind like I want to walk 10 minutes more today. Goals help to motivate and push you a little further.

7. Walk with a positive attitude by thinking of the wonderful health benefits you gain from walking. Walkers have less incidence of cancer, heart disease, stroke, diabetes and other life threatening diseases.

8. Walk to release some of that work, bills, and family stress. You will just feel that stress dissipating the further you walk. After a nice long walk you will forget all of your worries, well maybe not all but some.

9. Walk with your camera. You can take some great pictures of your favorite places that you are walking. Maybe you can get one of the squirrel that you stopped to feed nuts to.

10. Walk with you head up high and don't look like a target. When you are alone always be aware of your surroundings, stay in areas where others can see you and avoid tree or shrub lined paths, and wear a whistle or some kind of body alarm that can be seen.

Enjoy, be smart and get the most out of your walking. Remember you only have one body so treat it good and it can last a life time.
