Poetry: Invaders in our homeland

here they come
in dreaded hoards
boat after boat
of barbarian invaders

waving their steel
screaming for blood
plundering our villages
with sheer gold lust

slaughtering all
man woman and child
nothing left alive
unless fled into the wild

ransacking our homes
what had we done
soon they'll be gone
and we will be none
