I got suicidal and depressed

you turned very pale
I guess she got the worse of the promise
days later I found her on
the bath room floor
back where we first met
I looked at her
with swelled up eyes
"Remember how I use to be"
she said to me as she cried

I sat beside her
and held her close to me
praying God wouldn't let this horrid truth be
I whispered softly in her ear
something she once said to me

long after she passed

and you'll never guess what that little piece of paper said
