Now I was not prepared to write an article on this particular debate, however through the several nauseating lists I scrolled through, there was not one that I'd agree with. So here is my "more accurate" list.
1. L.T. - San Diego Chargers
Very little elaboration needed.
33 Total TD's. Over 2,300 total yards.
He does absolutely everything, and now has a more mature QB in Rivers, along with
a proven Offensive guru in Norv Turner.
2. Steven Jackson - St. Louis Rams
Many people debate him as the true # 2. You shouldn't. I drafted him last year and
rode him to a championship.
2,300 + yds. last season. 16 TD's. 90 receptions.
He doesn't fumble, is still very young and hasn't taken the beating that alot of
his counterparts have.
3. Larry Johnson - Kansas City Chiefs
The most difficult of the "elite backs" to judge. Is a horse, but he lost another
future hall of fame OL in Will Shields. Has the whole hold out controversy, and no
set QB. If he's there from Game 1 though, he should still be a top 3 back.
Almost 2,200 yards. 19 Td's. 416 carries last season.
How much will the attempts affect him this year? If not too much, expect more of
the same, as Herm Edwards loves to run that RB.
4. Frank Gore - S.F. 49ers
Outside of the fantasy world, how many people realized how much this kid blew up?
2,180 total yds. 9 total TD's.
Only 312 carries last year, expect more touches last season, with a much more
potent offense on the way.
5. Brian Westbrook - Philadelphia Eagles
Experienced a much larger rushing load last season, hitting career high in yards
and attempts.
1,900 total yards, 17 total TD's. 17 Twenty + yard gains.
Very explosive, but will most benefit from MVP candidate McNabb coming back.
6. Rudi Johnson - Cincinnati Bengals
Isn't the most flashy guy...but definitely one of the more consistent.
3 consecutive years with atleast 1,300 yards and 12 TD's.
Will be relied upon even more with the absence of Chris Henry in the first 8
games. Offense will be more explosive with Carson completely healthy.
7. Shaun Alexander - Seattle Seahawks
Definitely an interesting pick. High risk, high reward. Hampered by injuries
last season, could only play in 10 games. Will also be turning 30 this season.
900 yards and 7 TD's in a injury plagued season.
If Alexander is healthy, could easily be a top 5 back, considering
