Poetry: Pregnancy

Do you waddle when you walk?
Are your words forgotten before you talk?
Two hours have passed, you have to run,
Once again you must visit the throne.

When you awake to the morning light,
Does it make you squint at the sight?
Or to the restroom you must go,
Before your nauseas insides, start their flow.

Are you finding that your truly desired flavors,
Now have become the tastes you loathe,
And the taste your buds will savor,
Were once the most hated so.

Sounds have become much louder,
Smells have become much stronger,
You get beat up from the inside,
You swell from head to toe.

Your pants no longer fit,
Energy is non-existent,
But all that will change,
In this very instant,

Finally you hear a baby's cry,
"It's a boy!" The news is announced,
The father let's out a happy sigh,

Back inside your house again,
You take your baby in your arms,
You realize he is real, and he is your own,
Only the happiness now remains,
As you look down at your little one and you say,
"I am your mommy, and this is your home".
