A ten year old girl is kidnapped, sexually molested, and cut into pieces. What is our reaction? For most of us it would be, "string him up!" And rightly so in my opinion. You have all heard the liberal argument that killing is inhuman, and if we kill a murderer we are no different than they are.
Personally, I don't like being linked with a murderer or rapist. Ending the life of an individual who has removed another individual permanently from society, is not unjust.
Our nation is under attack by the liberals. They have managed to get prayer out of schools, legalized abortion, gun control, and condone burning the American flag as a form of free speech. Now they want to give serial killers and rapist their rights.
This is a true story: A woman was convicted of killing her husband. She was sentenced to life without parole. But wait! She received social security benefits because she is now widowed.
If an individual receives the death penalty it's because he/she made a choice to kill someone. Now that they have been caught, they start demanding their rights. They gave up their rights when they committed the crime. The only rights they should have is the right to a fair trial.
The legal system our country has in place is not perfect. We've all heard of rare cases where someone has been incarcerated for a crime they didn't commit. However, these are rare, and in many cases the accused was freed It's doubtful that would have happened in another country.
Criminals in our country receive better treatment in jail, compared to others who are just scraping by, but obeying the laws. Criminals receive dental and medical attention free of charge, while thirty eight millions of Americans cannot afford health insurance. Where is the justice in that?
Our society is built on rules. Rules that work and have created a great nation. Once those rules are bent or discarded, the foundation becomes weaker and weaker. A nation crumbles from the inside out, not the outside in.
A serious flaw I see in the death penalty is the fact that those who are given a death sentence, usually aren't put to death for years and years. The reason for this is that there are so many legal appeals they can use to deter their execution date.
This may be an advantage to the innocent; the few that are really innocent, but for us tax payers, it means more money out of our pockets to keep these reprobates in food, clothing and medical care.
The death penalty is fair and just. There have been too many instances where a murderer has been released from prison, only to discover that he/she has killed again.
If an individual takes the life of another man, woman or child, he/she have lost their right to live in a free society.
