An onesie, like a sleeper, is very important to a baby's wardrobe.

The onesie, also commonly known as a "body suit", is a t-shirt like garment that features buttons across the bottom. The buttons allow the shirt to fit snugly and keep it from riding up the baby's tummy. No worries though, they are always made with plenty of room in the bottom for the bulky diaper.

Onesies may be known for being a short sleeve body suit, but you can also find it in long sleeve and sometimes even long legs.

The beautiful thing about an onesie is that it can be used in so many ways. This takes a lot of stress off mommy, especially when she may be in a hurry. If baby is wearing a onesie around the house, mommy can simply throw on a pair of bottoms and head out the door. Of if you really want, it can also be used as the complete outfit.

You can find onesies in the simple, white; undergarment type or you can find many with colors, and embroidered designs. My favorite was always the simple, long sleeve, white onesies because I got so much use out of them. For example, a lot of stylish, unique onesies only come in the short sleeve version. You just put on a long sleeve under it in the wintertime and your baby never has to go without style.

As I said before, you can find onesies in almost every color and design. However, in the case that you are truly unique parents and you want your onesies to differ from every one else's. You can buy some every day white onesies, tie-dye or find your favorite iron-ons, and just have fun with it. Another idea would be to get some of the non-toxic fabric paint and create a wonderful onesie with your baby's hand and foot prints. The possibilities are endless.
