Songs: Loneliness

by Doug Stutzman

Created on: July 14, 2007

This is a song I wrote about how lonely it feels to love someone who will never love you back. It's how I wished to fall asleep and wake up the next day with her loving me or with me not loving her anymore.

Sleep Away

verse1
I've never been so alone
This far away
From everyone I've known
From every word you say

I've never cried as much
As I have tonight
And when I wake up tomorrow
It still won't be alright

Chorus
I wish I could sleep. Sleep this all away
Wake up in the morning and feel ok
I wish I could dream. Dream about being in love with you
Wake-up in the morning with it all coming true

verse2
I've never been so scared
Afraid of what the future may hold
But everything will be ok
At least that's what I'm told

I've never cried so much
The tears continue to fall
I can't smile without love
I can't breathe at all

Chorus

verse3
Is this what I've been waiting for?
Pain and nothing more
Is this the way I'm supposed to feel?
Will these wounds ever heel?

But I cry
I cry myself to sleep again

Chorus
