The problem with dating today is that no one has expectations. Guys want to date a woman who is "knock down" gouregous and women want a man to be so "fineeeeeee" that other women hate "her" all night. It's ridiculous! Be careful datitng scene, you just might get what you asked for. If a man is so delicious that you could eat him on the dance floor, he probably will be eaten, maybe not by you. And a woman that is simply gourgeous has too many things to think about regarding her hair and her nails and her outfit, it may be that she is just looking for someone to help her pay for her beauty.

Before you date, decide what it is you are looking for. Are you looking for a good time? Are you looking for a serious committment? Are you looking for a friend? Are you looking for sex, but be careful with this one. If you are looking for sex that's fine, but you can not wrap a lifetime of "to have and to hold" around a night of incredible sex, unless of course it was discussed beforehand. Even then, it probably would not happen.
There are no dating manuals therefore, you must decide what you are looking for from the date before and not after.
Unrealistic expectations occur when there is no communication and people are not clear on what they want. Don't let others dictate to you what should happen on your date, define you date for yourself. Maybe you didn't see a show on Broadway that night, or stay at the Waldorf, but did you have a good time? Maybe your date wont ever win any beauty contests, but was he/she considerate towards you?
The only expectations that you should have regaring dating are the ones that you decided on long before your date ever started.
